NEWS
Taiwan are joining the Fest party

After introducing a very compelling digital nomad visa, and ticking a lot of boxes for digital nomads in terms of liveability, this year’s Taiwan Digital Nomad Association fest is expected to be the biggest yet.

A week’s worth of events kick off on 6th June in Taipei, and it will be a great opportunity to connect with other nomads, learn more about the country, and pick up some new skills and insights from a different range of sources than your average nomad fest.

Plus, if you’re in Chiang Mai next week and attend the TDNA’s digital nomad party you can get yourself free tickets to the Taiwan Digital Fest AND a free 2-night stay in Taipei.

BUILD YOUR BUSINESS
Accelerate your project with other nomads

Hub Hoi An is set amongst rice fields, and a stroll from the beach

For a lot of you, collaborating and/or accountability accounts much of your success, but it isn’t always that easy to find (we’ve seen several posts in nomad groups seeking both lately).

Well Flo, owner of Hub Hoi An - somewhere many of you will be familiar with - has the solution. The Summer of Entrepreneurship - a very affordable, 2 month collaborative gathering for builders and innovators this July & August - is a new take on…well, let’s have him tell you about it…

So, what’s the Summer of Entrepreneurship?
It’s what I’m calling an “unretreat”. The problem for many with retreats and even conferences is that they are intense, and there’s not a lot of time to action new insights learned in workshops or presentations. The program is designed to give you the time to work on a project or build while implementing these insights, while still letting you be inspired and really get to know other entrepreneurs.

Who is it for?
Nearly any entrepreneur. The ones who will get the most from it are those working on scalable services, teams, AI hackers, and remote-first builders. The key thing really is that they can dedicate a month or two to a defined project, idea or goal, while also engaging with a community of entrepreneurs.

What will it look like for attendess?
After a welcome event, it’s going to feel like enhanced coworking. The attendees will work on their venture or project, but throughout the week masterminds and workshops will offer development and networking opportunities. There will be a lot of opportunity to network, as well as ice baths, weekend wind-downs, lunches, etc.. People can check in and out of any activities if their project needs them!

It sounds like there will be plenty to get into over the two months.
One of my favorite concepts will be co-learning. It’s a new learning format inside of this new event format. The biggest downside of e-learning is because you’re doing it alone, without social motivation, and why expensive cohort-style courses or universities are more successful.

We’ll create co-learning opportunities for attendees, be it validating ideas,, building AI Agents, or second brains.

Can attendees stay at the Hub?
We’ve added an Entrepreneur Villa option for up to ten of the attendees, where they will likely get the most from the program. They will get daily check-ins for accountability (Chris Reynolds style) as well as the benefits of coliving with other driven builders, which is huge. For regular participants, Hoi An is full of a wide range of accommodation options.

Flo is planning further coworking “unretreats” for creators, freelancers and creatives, so watch this space for when they get announced.

This one runs from 1 July to 31 August, and you can book for one month or both. He’s offering an early-bird price running until 30th May and there are a limited number of spots open for the program.

POLL

We’ve pulled a random card from our deck of Nomadicards for our poll question.

Last week we asked what you’d do if someone was taking calls in a shared coworking space. You were completely split between shying away from confrontation and nudging them to respect their co-workers.

This week the question is a little deeper…

Do you think digital nomads positively impact the places they visit?

Login or Subscribe to participate in polls.

If you haven’t heard of Nomadicards, you can download a pdf set on their website, or perhaps find a deck at a nearby coliving space. Thanks to Francesco for sharing his work with nomads!

DESTINATIONS
A country that low-key, kinda has it all

For many of you, Malaysia is generally considered a good mid-term stop or long visa run as it’s fairly easy to get 3 months entry. It’s not as cheap as Thailand or Vietnam, but has a lot going for it value-wise compared to many western countries.

In 2022,Malaysia launched the DE Rantau Nomad Pass, allowing nomads to stay longer, up to 12 months - and the chance to renew it. Last year the scope for applicants was widened, adding to the appeal.

If you want to know more about what you need, and how to apply, check out Digital Nomad Life’s recent “need to know” piece about the visa.

Can you get better results from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT knows it’s stuff 😉

If you are learning or are getting into AI and aren’t following Sabrina Ramonov then you’re making life harder than you need to. She’s giving up all her knowledge (she sold an AI business for $100m+ btw) for free, so it’s costing you nothing to get her insight.

Here are three simple ways from her to unlock Chat GPT genius mode. Append these to any prompt:

  1. Ask me clarfiying questions until you are 95% sure you can complete the task successfully.

  2. What would a top 0.1% person in this field think?

  3. Reframe this in a way that changes (or challenges) how I see the problem.

Turn a good prompt into one that’ll get you asking deeper and deeper stuff, which is when it really starts to work for you.

Sabrina also created Blotato - an AI-based platform to save you a LOT of time with your content production and scheduling.
